| Day 01 |
Zürich (Zurich) - Kandersteg On arrival in Zürich continue to Kandersteg (approx. 2.5 hrs). The small mountain village in the Bernese Oberland has a giant network of hiking trails. Its central location and excellent connections ensure an easy access by public transport. There are countless ways to explore the fascinating mountain world- either by sports and activities or by adopting a gentle, more relaxing approach. Overnight stay at Kandersteg. |
| Day 02 |
Kandersteg Today you can visit the Oeschinensee, which is on the application list for the UNESCO World Heritage (not incl. / 50% reduction with your Swiss Pass). From the top of the chair-lift there are plenty of ways leading down to Oeschinensee. All of them take you through a stunning alpine scenery. The lake is about 60 m deep. Snow-melt increases the depth. Overnight stay at the hotel Doldenhorn in Kandersteg. |
| Day 03 |
Kandersteg - Gornergrat After breakfast, travel to Gornergrat in Zermatt by train (approx. 2 hrs). The famous car-free resort lies at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn. Discover a stunning natural paradise: The Gornergrat train takes you from Zermatt to the top of the 3'089 m (11'333 ft) Gornergrat. The journey goes through aromatic stone pine and larch forests, across alpine meadows, which are blossoming with flowers in summer and covered with snow in winter. Experience 29 four-thousand-meter-high mountains covered with snow and ice. In the afternoon you return to Kandersteg (approx. 2 hrs). Overnight stay at Kandersteg. |
| Day 04 |
Kandersteg - Weggis After breakfast, travel to Weggis (approx. 4 hrs) by train and boat, and then check in at the Wellness Hotel Rössli. Because of the very mild climate and the numerous southern plants growing here, Weggis is also known as the "Riviera of Central Switzerland". Overnight stay at Weggis. |
| Day 05 | Weggis - Mount Rigi Today you spend a day in the heart of Switzerland. An excursion to Mount Rigi by Europe's first ever mountain railway gives you a stunning 360 degree panoramic view over the Alps, the lakes of Central Switzerland and the Swiss midland. In the afternoon you return by cable car to Weggis (approx. 1 hrs). Overnight stay at Weggis. |
| Day 06 |
Weggis Today you relax in your hotel. Relax in your hotel's spa area, book a treatment and just leave the hectic and the stress of the world behind you. Overnight stay at Weggis. |
| Day 07 |
Weggis - Luzern (Lucerne) After breakfast, travel to Luzern by boat (approx. 45 minutes). After you have checked in at your hotel you are free in the afternoon to visit the 700 years-old wooden Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument, the Swiss Transport Museum or to do some shopping. Overnight stay at Luzern. |
| Day 08 |
Luzern - Depart for the onward journey After breakfast, you either proceed to the airport for your onward flight or else continue your stay in Switzerland. |
